Friday December 26th 1919 I was going to finish my waist but Lizzie Duncan called up and wanted me for the day so I went over there. I did a few errands on the way over. I came back in time to be at the depot when the 4:55 train came. Laura was there and expected Martie and Richard but they did not come. I had a box from Ida & Mollie. a box of stationary and a string of jet beads. I have had letters and cards from many friends, an envelope from "May" had only a booklet of 1 ct stamps and not a line. She is still at Goodland, Kansas. I made tatting in the evening. Saturday December 27th 1919 I did some mending and finished my waist today. Maybell went home in the morning. The girls and Vene busy with the regular work most of the day. Late in the afternoon I walked up town to call on Mrs Hueston Shirts. weather fine. Sunday December 28th 1919 I was at home all day. The girls went to church. and to Mr Beattys funeral in the afternoon. I wrote in this book and letters to Alice Condon, Millie Byington, Mattie Stitt, May Baker. It was bright and cold. The last Sunday in the year. What would it mean to be at the house in Coralville and have Will with me. Never again.
