Thursday January 11th 1912 It was a very cold day I did the work and sewed on a skirt for myself I wrote to Lizzie Lindley & Rob & Cora Friday January 12th 1912 Still very cold I did the regular work and took my old black silk dress skirt apart and am making a petticoat of it I read some and knit on mittens in the evening. Will at home all day. 28 below this morning Saturday January 13th 1912 Weather some better. It was a little above zero today. I worked all day at my sewing and finished my petticoat. Will did not go to town. I did some mending in the evening Sunday January 14th 1912 It was quite moderate till noon it began to blow the snow and turned colder. I was busy with the housework till after a late dinner I wrote some and read all the evening. Monday January 15th 1912 It was a very cold day. I did some washing and hung the clothes in the house they dried so I ironed them in the evening. I went to town a little while in the afternoon. Tuesday January 16th 1912. I bake cake and did a lot of work in the forenoon. I dressed after dinner to go to Cedar Rapids on the 2.40 car. I went directly to the Masonic Annex. [Lorie Faltz?] had gone down town she & Newt Parvin soon came back we had supper then and went to hear Schumann Heink the great contralto singer. Enjoyed it very much. We got started home at ten oclock. Lorie stayed all night with me.
