Friday May 3rd 1912 It was a fine day. I sewed in the forenoon to finish the dress I was fixing. after dinner Will went to town. I washed out my dress and a few other things. I put away our fur coats and finished cleaning the shed kitchen. It was very warm. I took bath and went to bed early. Saturday May 4th 1912 We found "Speculation" had a fine colt this morning. I wrote Rob & Cora. Will and I went to town at 10.15. I helped him select the goods for a new suit. I had a little change made in the trimming to my hat. I went on up to Carrie Andersons where all the girl cousins were invited. Spent a pleasant time. I rode down town with Fannie & Hattie and came home at 5.30. Did evening work. Sunday May 5th 1912 It was a fine morning. I went to church and did a little writing after I got the dinner over. Hattie & Lorie drove out late in the afternoon. Will and I talked awhile in the evening but we went to bed early. Monday May 6th 1912 We were up early and had the washing done by 9.30. I baked cake and pie before dinner. Will did a lot of work in the garden today. I raked and burned trash out under the big tree south of the house. I ironed before four oclock and then washed some windows up stairs and cleaned screens and Will helped put them in. It was a nice warm day. We both felt we had done a big days work. To bed early. William Byington 14 years today.
