Friday August 9th 1912 Henry Miller came up this morning and I paid him for the work done at the west farm. $45.50. I was well pleased. Will busy about the place all day mowed the front yard with a machine. I went down home at 1:15 Will & Emily Bremer were there. I rode most of the afternoon in their Auto and they brought me out home. Saturday August 10th 1912 I was busy all morning with the work for I was doing some things out side the house. Will to town in both forenoon and afternoon. I worked all afternoon on my tatting and in the evening went to the opening of The Chautauqua." It was very good the neighbors are all attending. weather fair. Ott & Fannie with William went with Will & Emily this morning. Ott & Fannie came back from Newton but William [illeg] home with them. Sunday August 11th 1912 Will and Ron went to the valley to see the colts. I got the work done and went down home at 11:15. In the afternoon Hattioe and I went to Chautauqua and the boys staid with John. I went back over there for supper and John went with us in the evening,. I came home at 9:30. a good days programme. Monday August 12th 1912 I was busy with the work in the forenoon and went to Chautauqua in the afternoon. a good musical programme by the Scheberts but small attendance. I went back in the evening and listended to them and a pleasant entertainment by S. Platt Jones. I came home at 9:30. Will about home all day.
