Sunday October 6th 1912 I still felt tired this morning. I was busy about the house work most of the forenoon. Jist before 12 oclock Mrs John Clarks house north of us took fire and burned to the ground. I slept two hours in the afternoon. I read and talked with Will in the evening. Monday October 7th 1912 I was busy with the worked. helped Will fix a place to put the shingles in for kindling. I went down town in the afternoon to get some things to do sewing with as Miss Graham comes tomorrow. Tuesday October 8th 1912 It was a cloudy day. Miss Graham came and we put in the day sewing. I went down town an hour in the afternoon for some things we needed. I sewed some in evening. Wednesday October 9th 1912 It rained most of the day. We worked away at the sewing but did not get done. Rob & Cora out in the evening. a letter from Lydia. Thursday October 10th 1912 I was busy with the work all forenoon. I went down town a couple of hours in the afternoon and got me a new hat. There was a big fire in town tonight. The Old Metropolitan block belonging to The Hutchinsons. Will went down awhile. Friday October 11th 1912 Still rainy. I did the house work and sewed some. I cut out a dressing [sacque?] but the machine will not work. I worked on tatting all the evening. The girls were coming out but the weather was so bad and Lorie has a bad cold.
