Friday November 8th 1912 I got my things picked up and packed. Mattie came down before noon. Soon after two oclock I told Mary good by and Mattie went with me to the depot. I left a little late but reached Cincinnati in plenty of time. Leaving there at 9 oclock I changed cars at Indianapolis at 12:10. I got a little sleep on train. Saturday November 9th 1912 I reached Bloomington at 6:10 and at 7:30 left for Delavan. Jim met me and soon after I got over to Venes I went to bed till dinner time. I spent the afternoon and evening visiting with the folks there. Letters from home report all doing well. fine day. Sunday November 10th 1912 I found I could not make the trip to Burlington as I wanted. I visited with the folks till after dinner. Then went over to Lizzie Duncans for a call. I got back so I left for home at 5:25. The girls went to the depot with me. I reached Iowa City before twelve and went to the West hotel for the rest of the night. Monday November 11th 1912 I got up and came out home at 7:30. The first thing Will told me when I stepped of the car was that Mrs Bremmer had been found dead in her bed Sunday morning. Fannie was still in New York but reached Chicago today. Will and I drove down home and on over town after dinner. Got home to do evening work. After supper I wrote to Winnie, Sue and Sallie, Nellie, Lydia, & Mary Briggs.
