Subnday January 5th 1913 This is Dear Old Mother's birthday, 87 she would have been. How she enjoyed the birthday parties we had. Two years today we had the last one. It was snowing some. I did not go to church in the morning and I could not go down home to see Joe Williams in the afternoon. Monday January 6th 1913 It still stormed. I was at home all day. I worked on tatting and some sewing. I read in the evening. Tuesday January 7th 1913 Still snowing and blowing even more than yesterday. I was busy with the house work and some fancy work. I read all the evening. Wednesday January 8th 1913 weather some better. By & Millie went back to Chicago today though their train was late. Will went to town in the afternoon. I wrote a long letter to Lydia. I had a letter from her, John O'Neil, Nellie B & Mary Briggs. Thursday January 9th 1913 weather not so good today. I was at home all day I wrote to Ida that I have given up going to California with her and we want she and Nellie to come out here for a visit. I put in the spare time with my tatting and reading Will about the house most of the day.
