Saturday March 29th 1913 This is Lee's birthday. I had a busy day. Did some baking and ironing in the forenoon. Will to town at 1:15. I did sweeping, cleaning and washed some windows in the afternoon. They finished the rug I have been making. The weather was warmer. I read me a book all the evening. Sunday March 30th 1913 I went to church. At dinner time Hattie told me Alliene Holson was there from Grinnell and that Fannie was not well today. I read awhile and at 5:15 went down and did not come back until 8:30. William came to the track with me. Monday March 31st 1913 It was a cold windy day so I did not attempt to work but began another rug. Will was about the house most of the day Rob & Earl Etterback are having a conference today and Mr Bonson of Rock Island is here helping them in regard to Earl buying an interest in the store. Tuesday April 1st 1913 It was a fine day. Will helped me work and I ironed in the afternoon. Hattie Rob & Cora were out for supper and told us all about the trade for the store. Earl bought in. Fannie is not at all well. Was not able to be up today. Wednesday April 2nd 1913 Will took down the garden fence between the garden and the yard. I did house work all forenoon, baked a cake, and took some over to Mrs Jones. Will to town in afternoon. Ott wanted to see him. I was sewing. Ott got a telegram ferom Elyria that Carrie Byington was dead.
