Tuesday May 14th 1913 It was rainy. I looked after the chickens hatching and did some sewing. I begin to feel some rested. I was very tired yesterday. Will not doing much of any thing. Wednesday May 14th 1913 I worked most of the forenoon putting the little chickens out and doing baking. Hattie Lorie & Fannie were out all afternoon. There was a frightful rain about 5 oclock so they did not get home till after supper. Will brought the chickens in. Will to town in forenoon to visit with a Mr Gross he met at Dubuque. Thursday May 15th 1913 It had dried of so I put the chickens out in the yard in the forenoon and one more hen. They are all hatched and I have little more than 90 with the three hens. I went to town in the afternoon to have my cloak fitted. Fridat May 16th 1913 A fine day. Will helped me work and went to see the show parade. He came home for dinner and went to the show with Rob & Cora. I did some sewing and ironed. Saturday May 17th 1913 Sewed some in the forenoon and Will went to town about 12:15 I washed some beding &c and sewed some. I got every thing put away before bed time. What a weeks work. Sunday May 18th 1913 Will & I both busy most of the forenoon. Rob drove out a little while. In the afternoon I wrote to Lydia, Alice Conden, Jennie Levergood, John Ware, Lizzie Lindley, and Jim Wash. I read in the evening and looked over papers to clean out the table & dish drawers. Rather a pleasant day.
