Monday May 19th 1913 I got my work done up in time to go in at 9:15. I did some errands and went to meet Mrs Parsons from Des Moines. The train was so late we did not get here till 12:40. After dinner I cut out a dressing socque and sewed. It rained some today. Tuesday May 20th 1913 We were at home till 2:15. I sewed a little. We went down to Cora's to a reception she was giving. It came up a frightfull rain jist at three oclock that spoiled the party. Only about 20 of the more than 100 invited did not come. We ate supper at Hatties and came home at 7:40. Wednesday May 21st 1913 Mrs Parsons and I went down town and on out to Aunt Emmas for dinner. Some of the others were there and we had such a good days visit to say nothing of the good dinner came home at 6:30. a letter from Lydia says Vene may go with us to Oklahoma. We would be very glad to have her. Thursday May 22nd 1913 It was a cold cheerless day. I sewed all my spare time. I got my dressing sacque nearly down and began a silk waist I bought yesterday. I wrote to Lydia. Friday May 23rd 1913 I sewed a little in the forenoon. Mrs Parson and I went down to Aunt Libs at 1:15. I came up town and on home at 4:30. Mrs P-- went down to Uncle Jims to stay all night. This is LeGrands birthday. He is 19 years old the weather was very nice today.
