Saturday July 26th 1913 The Hoffmans came out last night. I did the rest of our packing this morning and we went down town at 9:15 Will bought him a new panama hat. Hattie came over with LeGrand in the Auto. We left Iowa City a little late. Miss Cronan was with us. We had dinner in Davenport and went right on the boat and were soon established in our state rooms. Spent the time pleasantly till bed-time. very warm. Sunday July 27th 1913 I wrote to Mrs Parsons and Cousin Jane in the forenoon. I slept awhile in afternoon. Miss Cronan got of the boat just before supper time. The day was spent quietly by all on the boat. We were up in the Pilot House at sundown. The scenery has been beautiful. We had music in the evening. Monday July 28th 1913 The day was spent pleasantly in looking at the scenery, talking with pleasant people we met, and doing fancy work. When we had jist finished supper we entered "Lake Pepin" and had only jist gotten through into the river again when a storm struck us. It did not last long but the rest of the evening was spent in the cabin. The young folks danced and sang. Tuesday July 29th 1913 We waked up at St Paul. I was not well, had trouble with my stomach. Rob & Cora came down to the boat about nine oclock. We all went out to Minneloha Falls. Then down town for lunch. I staid in a store while the others went around some. We got back to the boat at 5 oclock. Hattie Rob & Cora went up town after supper. Will & Emily Bremmer spent the evening with us.
