Wednesday July 30th 1913 I felt better today. Emily came and took Hattie Will & I for an Auto ride about "The Parks." Later we met Rob & Cora over in Minneapolis and went back near the boat to have dinner. The boat started to two oclock with a big excursion for "Stillwater." We reached there jist at dark and there was a river from carnival with fire worrks and The great [illeg] "Western" had jist reached there. It was a fine sight. Edith would have been 32 years old today. weather warm. Thursday July 31st 1913 We heard we were tied up two hours last night for a storm but I did not know it. Some cooler and we spent the time pleasantly on the boat with people we knew returning and new people going down. There are none of us who feel very good. We do not relish the eating on the boat. Friday August 1st 1913 We had passed Dubuque when we got up this morning. When we reached Clinton Mrs Falk and Walter come on and were with us the rest of the way. We reached Davenport at three oclock. We took a car ride out to a very pretty park and then down to Falks where we had a nice visit and supper and some rested for the trip home. We left Davenport at 10:23 and got to Iowa City after twelve. Earl Etterback and Bobbie Hall met us. We went over the river to stay all night. It has not rained and the way things have dried out the last week is frightful.
