1914 Thursday January 1st 1914 I felt wretched early in the forenoon. Edith came back from the valley and went over to Will Andersons and later home with George & Flora. Otts family with Rob Cora Otto Blanche & Little Robert were here for dinner. Lorie helped Hattie get a nice dinner. Will did not go home very early as we had music after dinner. We girls were home all evening. Friday January 2nd 1914 I felt better today. Edith came back and after dinner. She came up home with Will to see the place. and then over to Aunt Libs. Cora has a wretched cold and spent the afternoon and took supper with us. Her company went at 12:08. Lorie went to the funeral of a Mr Rice on Bowery St and later to see Harry Breene about rates to California as she expects to go about the 10th. Hattie and Fannie were at Aid Society. The evening we girls spent together except Edith & Hattie down at Otts a little time. Saturday January 3rd 1914 Cora was not able to be up. I was over there a little while after LeGrand took Edith to the depot. Hattie & Lorie went too. Will was down for dinner and LeGrand brought me home in the Auto four oclock. got some supper and made tatting. Sunday January 4th 1914 I did not have a good night and we slept late. I did a little cooking and house work and wrote in this book. I read in the evening. weather cloudy but not very cold.
