Saturday January 10th 1914 I did some cooking and got dinner so we both went to town at 12:15. Will had been busy all forenoon with the pump down at Frank Vaughns. I got a basket of things for Will to bring home. I then went into Getters where I found a dress I liked and took it out to Mrs Emmons to make. I came back down town and up to the Lewis home where I had been invited by Mrs Davies. The party was for Lorie. I came home at 6:30. a pleasant time. Sunday January 11th 1914 It was a fine morning. I went to Church. Will helped Frank Vaughn put the pump together. I got dinner and then put in most of the afternoon about the house doing some work I had neglected. There was a hard wind blowing late in afternoon and evening. Monday January 12th 1914 It was a cold day. I was at home all day doing some sewing. Cora came out late in the afternoon and Rob for supper. They went home at 8:15. I worked on my tatting. Tuesday January 13th 1914 Will helped me work and put the clothes on the lines in the house and the garret. I went down on the 2:15 car to go to the Opera of "the Red Rose" with Rob & Cora. It was fine. I did house work most of the evening. weather better. Wednesday January 14th 194 I got the work done and some things fixed to take with me and went down home at 9:15. Lorie started to California at 10:40. Hattie went with her to Columbus Junction and on to Burlington later. I went to town in afternoon and up to Mrs Emmons to see about my dress. In the evening went to picture shows with Rob & Cora.
