Sunday May 3rd 1914 It was very late when we got up so could not go to church and had only two meals. About four oclock there was a heavy cloud went North and we heard later a cyclone had destroyed much property by Going Station but no one was killed. spent the evening at home. Monday Macy 4th 1914 I was at home all day. The cars run agian after 6:05 the first since the storm. I got my things together ready to pack. About nine oclock I called the Woolfs and Tishie told me Eloise would not be able to go tomorrow. I hardly know what to do. Tuesday May 5th 1914 I got up early to go to Delavan. We had the last of the buckwheat cakes for breakfast. Will went with me down to the 7:15 car. I left on The Limited at 8:15. I felt very sorry to go without Eloise. It was a nice day for the journey. I reached Delavan on time. Jim met me and Frank Woolf was there for Eloise. Spent the evening on Masons porch visiting with them. Wednesday May 6th 1914 I did not go up town. Did some telephoning. In the afternoon Mr Parson of Lincoln was there. I was glad to meet him. Frank Woolf came for me at 5:30 in his new Auto. nice visit with them. a letter from Hattie with one from Birdie enclosed says told Uncle Jim very sick. Thursday May 7th 1914.
