Tuesday August 4th 1914 I was at home all day. did not feel well and only worked on my fancy work a little. weather warm. Wednesday August 5th 1914 Do not feel much better. I finished the lace I have been making for table cover. I had a letter from Hattie & Edith & Cousin Jane. I answered all of them before bed time. Thursday August 7th 1914 I am still sick. Did the regular work. Will sold the old hay barn and the men began to tear it donw today. I went to town at 2:15 and Dr Smith gave me different medicine. I did a few errands and went up to Thomas Swishers funeral. I walked down town with Ott so I came home at 5:30. I did not care to go to Chautauqua tonight. sold 10.35 cts worth of chickens today. Rob & Cora out awhile in evening. Friday August 7th 1914 I was at home all day sewing on a light dress for myself. Will & I went to Chautauqua in the evening. The programme was fine. Pictures of the Panama Canal and of buildings at San Francisco Exposition to be held next year. We did not get home till 10:30. I feel some better Saturday August 7th 1914 I was busy sewing all day got my dress pretty well along. Will & I went down together at 6:15. I went up to make a call at Mollie Folsoms before Chautauqua. Cora came along and we went in together. After awhile Will came. The programme was fairly good. Got home at 9:30 and sat on the proch an hour. a very warm day but cooled some in the evening.
