Friday August 14th 1914 I sewed all day only stopping a little time to get the meals. I about finished both my dresses. Saturday August 15th 1914 Will helped me do a big washing in forenoon. It grew very warm in afternoon. I slept awhile and did some mending. I went to town for some things I needed at 7:15, was only gone an hour. John McCallister and Ruth Getter were married this evening. Sunday August 16th 1914 Late last night we had a hard blow followed by rain. I put in all the forenoon cleaning up this house. I slept awhile and then wrote cards to Mary Baker, Mrs Parsons, Lizzie Lindley and letters to Hattie, Mrs Bryan, Ida and in the evening to Lorie. Will was riding most of the afternoon with Otts folks. Monday August 17th 1914 I was at home all day busy with sewing. Will about the place. Sold 10 chickens in evening to Mr Lewis for 3.20. Tuesday August 18th 1914 I did some sewing in the forenoon and Will was helping the men put coal in the cellar. I went to town for some things I needed about my sewing in the afternoon. The men brought the rest of the coal and Will had put things to rights again. I had a letter from Hattie. I cleaned some silver in the evening to send down for Fannie to keep.
