Wednesday August 19th 1914 I was sewing all day when not busy with the regular work. weather very warm again. Thursday August 20th 1914 We were up early. Will helped me wash and went to town to see show parade. It was late so he came home long enough for dinner. I cleaned the cellar and ironed in afternoon. In the evening we caught the rest of the chickens. Mr Kern died this morning. Friday August 21st 1914 I helped Will tie the chickens and put them in the waggon. I sewed a little and got dinner so I went at 1:15. stopped at Marys awhile and rode to town with Tishie. I did some errands then went to the cemetery. It was so beautiful up there. I then went out to see the Williams girls. Came home at 8:30. Saturday August 22nd 1914 Will hitched up Mr Eggenburgs horse some after breakfast and we took a lot of things down home. I did some washing and packing in afternoon. was busy till bed time. The folks could not go after Hattie. The car is broke. Sunday August 23rd 1914 Will & I were busy all forenoon packing the things we wanted to take and getting the house in order to leave. It rained just at noon and we phoned Rob & Cora we would not come down till tomorrow morning. Will went down town awhile and I took a good sleep. Got supper. Was over to Jones of an errand and went to be early.
