Friday September 11th 1914 Will went for a ride in the country. I went over to Matties. I made two calls on the way. Will came for dinner. I staid till nearly night. Wrote Hattie. Saturday September 12nd 1914 I worked at a new pattern of tatting all forenoon. was ready to go up town in afternoon when we had callers that stayed till supper time. We spent the evening visiting after late supper. weather cool. Sunday September 13th 1914 It was late when we got up. I took a rest in the afternoon and later Will & I took a walk down to the west side of town to see how the [fencing?] looked. Visited in evening. Monday September 14th 1914 The weather was threatening but Vene washed. I wrote some in the forenoon and made tatting and visited in afternoon. I folded my clothes to iron and visited. Tuesday September 15th 1914 I did my ironing and helped Vene a little in the morning. I put in all the afternoon packing. We enjoyed the last evening on the porch and went to bed early. Wednesday Septmeber 16th 1914 We left Delavan at 8:15 and had rather a pleasant trip to Kansas City for a local train. It was not crowded. We went across the street from the depot to the "Blossom Hotel" where we got good accomodations for the night. It was 30 years tonight since Brother Rob died.
