It is two years today since John died. Monday September 28th 1914 I did some sweeping and extra work this morning and put in the afternoon and evening with the folks. Letters from home. Tuesday September 29th 1914 I washed out a few pieces in forenoon and did regular work. Will to the fair grounds in afternoon. I spent my spare time with Jane doing fancy work. weather delightful. A letter from Fannie. Wednesday September 30th 1914 I went down town this morning to get some things. A letter from Ott says the farm is rented. Jane had a letter from Lydia that told Aunt Racheal Hess died Sunday. Thursday October 1st 1914 I got my work done and went to the fair with Grace. Jane came out with Catherine in the afternoon. There was much to see and the day was bright. Will was down town in the forenoon and came out to the fair in the afternoon with Will Levegood. After supper went over to Janes. Friday October 2nd 1914 The woman brought the clean clothes so I ironed in forenoon, did a little cleaning and washed out a couple of shirts for Will. I was up town late in the afternoon and we spent the evening at Janes. Will about the house all afternoon reading. He walked about town all forenoon.
