October 27th 1914 I worked all day sweeping dusting and putting things to rights. Will doing some work about the place. I was over to Jones to talk to the home folks. It froze ice last night that Will took from the tank for the refrigerator. Wednesday October 28th 1914 I did a little more cleaning and baked bread and cake. I went down town at 2:15. Got me a pair of shoes and went down to the depot where I found Hattie. By & Millie came from Chicago. I came home at 4:30. The phone had been put in. Thursday October 29th 1914 I got up early and had my work done to go to town at 8:15. I changed my shoes and bought a bushel of pears that I brought home on the 9:30 car. My hat came today by express and there were letters in it that came after I left there. By & Millie came out for dinner, and I worked on my pears some in afternoon and till bed time. They came for them before six in the Auto. weather quite warm again. Friday October 30th 1914 a beautiful day. I worked in the fruit all day as I made butters and sweet pickles. My pears were very satisfactory. Will busy about the place. Saturday October 31st 1914 I was busy with the work all forenoon. At 1:15 I went down to Aunt Libs to make a call and then over to Fannies. Hattie and Millie were there. I went up town to get some things and home at 4:30. I read in the evening.
