Tuesday January 5th 1915 Cora had breakfast in plenty of time and the carriage came for us. Rob Cora and Will went with us. Our train was on time and the trip delightful as we had Mrs Broadway and Mrs Chatham for company. All eating together in the Diner. At Chicago Homer & wife with Ann Herslee met us. We visited with them and ate supper at a restaurant together. They took us to our station before going out home. We started at 10:25 and had a good nights trip. Wednesday January 6th 1915 We had a pleasant day journey although the train was full and we were behind time. The meals were good. We were tired so went to bed early. It was dark before we reached Chattanooga. Thursday January 7th 1915 When we woke this morning we were in the pine forests of southern Georgia and four hours late in Jacksonville. We were too late for the forenoon train. We walked up town and had our dinner. We left for DeLand at 1:30 and were met at The Junction by Walter and his Mother on the Auto. Spent the evening visiting. Friday January 8th 1915 After a good nights rest we enjoyed our breakfast and I walked out in the Orange trees. The sun shine was wonderful. In the early afternoon both of us took a long stroll over the place and through the orange trees with Walter. Then we sat on the porch for some time. Walter went in for our trunks which we unpacked to some extent before supper. We spent the evening visiting before the fire place in the living room. We had a card from Rob written the afternoon we left.
