Friday April 21st 1899 It looked so much like rain that we did not get a very early start to town. I had so many things to see to it was after twelve before we started over the river. Spent the afternoon at home talking with Mother & Hattie. Did the evening work and read the papers. Saturday April 22d 1899 I was busy with the work all forenoon. I finished the mat and did some mending in the afternoon Will went to town with John McCallister. The boys began plowing for corn. Weather cool. Sunday April 23d 1899 I was busy with the work all forenoon for I neglected things so yesterday. Callie was up in the afternoon I read in the evening. Walter [Showery?], Earnest and Jamie down for supper Monday April 24th 1899 Luther helped me wash and churned and I did a little sewing in the afternoon, did the evening work. set five hens on turkey eggs. Tuesday 25th 1899 I baked bread and ironed and got a nice dinner. Lee and Mother came just at noon. Lee went to Riverside and did not get back till eight oclock. It was a warm light night and they went on home. Charlies birth-day
