Saturday May 6th 1899 Will is 47 years old today. he went to town. We did ironing baking & churning, put things to rights in the two front rooms, and put down the kitchen carpet. I let [Prish?] go home about six oclock. The boys went to town I dressed a turkey and got things ready for dinner tomorrow. Sunday May 7th 1899 The boys got Will a nice pair of glases for a birthday present. It rained a great part of the day but John & Hatt. with Willie [Brenner?] and Otts family came down for dinner. We had a nice visit. But Oh how I missed Edith. I cried nearly all the evening. Monday May 8th 1899 This is Hatties birthday and 5 months since Edith died. I worked out with my chickens till nearly noon. got the dinner and cleaned the store room in the ice house and put on window screens. [Prish?] did not come back to help me today. Tuesday May 9th 1899 I had more work to do with the chickens and baking & churning to do. I was so tired I rested awhile after dinner. I then partly cleaned the pantry. Will hauled boys to town for John Mc. got home at noon
