Tuesday October 10th 1899 I ironed this morning while Julia took up the carpet and cleaned the floor in the sitting room. We put that carpet down in the afternoon and took up the parlor carpet. Wednesday October 11th 1899 Julia took up the carpet in the kitchen in the forenoon and got it ready to wash. I put down the parlor carpet Will went down to Millers sale. In the afternoon we washed lace curtains and carpet and took up the carpet in the south room up stairs. Thursday October 12th 1899 Will went up to Henrys sale today. We sewed the carpet and put it down in the south room before noon. In the afternoon we took up the carpet in the south bed-room downstairs, cleaned and put it back again, and washed and ironed curtains. A warm wind blowing. Friday October 13th 1899 We churned and did baking in the forenoon. had dinner very early and Will went up to Henrys for hogs he bought yesterday. I took the butter to town went past [Hawke's] to engage apples, did a lot of shopping and was over home a few moments. It was nearly night when I got home Julia had supper ready. Very warm
