Saturday August 4th 1900 I was busy all forenoon with bread baking, ironing and dinner. The boys finished stacking before eleven oclock. I wrote letters in the afternoon. Will rested and Leonard did some work about the place. Sunday August 5th 1900 A fearful hot day. Gil & Art Pool were here for breakfast they were out for a ride. Will and I were at home all day. I read and he slept. Monday August 6th 1900 The men were away most of the day helping thresh I was busy with the work till the middle of the afternoon I went down to Callies. A very hot day. Tuesday August 7th 1900 The boys gone all day threshing I did washing alone and some other work. I was down to Callies in the afternoon. I am putting water on the ashes down there to get lye to finish up the soap. Wednesday August 8th 1900 The boys were away threshing and did not get home till late. I ironed and was down to Callies in the afternoon. Reverend Waite called. It has been a very hot day. We sat in the yard till late bed-time.
