Will was down town this morning and Mother told him they had just got a dispatch that Fred Cotter was dead I went down in the afternoon and we arranged for Hattie to go to Carthage with my letting Ida go down to help Mother. I was over in town awhile. Mother went with me. Wednesday April 24th 1901 I ironed this morning and got a nice dinner In the afternoon Earnest plowed the garden and I worked in the yard and showed him where to put out berry bushes. Will raked stalks in the afternoon. He sold Old Jersey today for 25.00 Thursday April 25th 1901 I was busy all forenoon with the work. Went home in the afternoon. A letter from Hattie says Fred
