Wednesday June 25th 1902 It rained this morning so the boys could not plow. I feel some better. I dressed a couple of hens to take down home. Will took Mother some chicken feed after dinner and I went along. They told us that Vene is coming tonight. Oh but we are glad. Did evening work after coming home. weather pleasant. Thursday June 26th 1902 I had a lot of work to do. boiled the chicken, baked pies, and two cakes. Will went down after Vene. After dinner Will hitched to the new buggy and we took some things down home that were needed and had a nice drive about town. It was a fine afternoon. They are getting things ready at home for the party tomorrow. Did the evening work with Venes help and we talked till ten oclock. Friday June 27th 1902 It looked like rain early this morning. We hurried through the work and Vene and I took the things we needed and went down home. Will came in the mail waggon. It rained a part of the forenoon but they all came but Carl & Mary Bird, Roxie Chalfant and Mollie Moon. They were all so delighted and surprised to see Vene. It was one of the most
