24 Friday December 13th 1895 Seth went after wood and Will went to town with me. I took some things down to the church for the dinner tomorrow. We stopped at Chalfonts with the butter and found that Arthur had been sick a week and was a deaths door. We went on over home to invite the folks out for Sunday and heard that Jennie [Conway?] had died last Sunday at Davenport under the most painful circumstances. We came home and I got dinner by the time Seth came. I sewed a little in the afternoon but my mind is to disturbed to do any thing. Will went back to town awhile. Saturday December 14th 1895 Will went to town this morning. Arthur is still alive with us hope he can get well. I was busy all the day till three oclock with sweeping a dusting and doing some baking. We then got ready and went down to Nelsons to supper. The cousins were nearly all there. We heard from Lew Price who came through town that Arthur died at four oclock. It was 11 oclock when we got home. Sunday December 15th 1895 It was a bright warm day. Ott & Fanny with the baby and John Hatt & Edith came out for dinner. I was so glad they could come. Will and I intended to go down to Chalfonts but it had got so muddy by the time they went home that we will wait till tomorrow. Did the evening work and read a little
