Monday March 16th 1896 I was at work about the house most of the day. I did a little sewing in the afternoon. I got our things ready to put in the valise, took a bath, and went to bed early. It was a nice day. Will was down town. Tuesday March 17th 1896 We were up in good tome and ready to go to Des Moines. Fanny was better and they met us at the depot. The ride up was pleasant. Got there at noon. After dinner went over to the Capitol building with Ott. It is grand. Called at Ed Sale awhile and then went back to go home with Ott. It was snowing and melting as it fell so it was very unpleasant. We visited with the folks awhile and went to bed. Wednesday March 18th 1896 Fanny and I went to call on Mrs Judge Day and from there to the Capitol. Will met us there and we all came home to dinner together. After dinner Will, Fanny, and I took a ride on the street cars out to Highland Park. When we got back she went home and we over to Ed Sale for supper. We had a delightful visit. Come back at nine oclock. Found Will Bremmer there. This has been a happy day. Thursday March 19th 1896 The boys started away early. Later us girls went over to the Capital. After staying there awhile came down town to look through some of the stores. Went to Will Bremmers office where we met Will Reed and
