Friday August 28th 1896 I dried more corn and did other work in the forenoon. We went to town after dinner. Will went down to Stevens to tell him and stopped to tell Mr Hedges that we would not want their farms. I did my evening work. Elmer & Ida brought Laura back. We all went to bed early. Saturday August 29th 1896 I was busy with the work all morning. After an early dinner Will and I went to the valley. I stopped at Stevens as the girls from home were there while Will went on down to Henrys. Laura went to town with Elmer & Ida. a pleasant day. Sunday August 30th 1896 We were at home all the forenoon. I got dinner early and Will and I went over to Woolfs. Laura expected company. George Stevens and Martie were here for supper and the young folks went to town in the evening. Monday August 31st 1896 Us girls washed the morning with some help from Charlie. He then churned for me and picked the grapes and tomatoes. I worked all the afternoon with them and baking cake and doing scrubbing. Will was hauling corn. It was a pleasant day. Tuesday September 1st 1896 Laura and I got ironing done this morning and the dinner ready. In the afternoon we went over home to supper as Hattie had company invited. I helped
