Sunday October 11th 1896 Vene and I went to church this morning. We met many old friends. The girls had dinner ready and in the afternoon. We started out to make called and did not get home till supper was ready. Laura went back to her school. We talked till late bed-time. Monday October 12th 1896 I took a long ride this morning with Jim away down west of town. I stopped at Duncans when I got back. I called at Hueston Shurts late in the afternoon but stayed all night at Duncans. Lizzie and I went up to the Republican rally. weather fine. Tuesday October 13th 1896 I went over to Joe Woolfs before noon. Vene came in the afternoon and stayed till after supper and I went home with her to stay all night. I had a letter from Will and wrote to him. Wednesday October 14th 1896 I went over the west side of town in the morning and made four calls. I got back to Venes in time to write some letters before noon. Soon as we ate dinner Martie took Vene and I out to the cemetery. When we came back Jim took me over to McKinstrys. I went down to Duncans to stay all night. Thursday October 15th 1896 I went back over to Venes and Jim took us out to John Shurts to spend the day. We had a splendid visit. We spent the evening at home. Jim went to Green Valley.
