5th Tuesday Jan 9th 1872 Taught today and was going over to Fletchers after school but came to the conclusion that I would wait till tomorrow eve after I came home I ironed some and Uncle Robert Walker stayed all night here weather pleasant. Wednesday Jan 10th 1872 Taught today after school I went over to Fletchers and stayed til after eight oclock Frank came home with me when I got home there was three letters here for me one from Bertie Croninger which contained a beautiful bow one from Cousin Anna Gilbert and one from Mr Wright in West Liberty enjoyed reading them very much did not have time to answer any of them. Had two new scholars today the weather is pleasant. Pete had not been up to Mansfield when Bertie wrote. Thursday Jan 11th 1872 Taught today, after I came home from school I helped about the supper and the work and then wrote a note to Mr Huebner and a letter to Bertie Croninger and Anna Gilbert weather pleasant thaws in the day time and freezes at night.
