11th quite sick yet I am nearly sick with a cold wrote a letter to E. Picard at Ft Scott went to bed early Thursday Jan 25th 1872. A disagreeably cold day I attempted to teach today. Rob came over in the afternoon and relieved me I came home and Mother was so alarmed about the form my cold had taken that she had Charlie go over to the school house and tell Rob to dismiss the school till Monday I felt sorry to have it so but there was no other alternative. Had a letter from Bertie Croninger it contained the pictures of her sisters children they are so pretty I was highly pleased with them answered her letter tonight. Friday Jan 26th 1872 Was not well enough to teach I did the work Mother went to town and was gone most of the day I ripped the band of a chemise I was going to fix Mother brought a new dress for Hattie I tore of the skirt and sewed some on it but felt so much worse that I was unable to sew any Mollie was in a few minutes to see me. Mother doctored me up and put me to bed early.
