33rd Friday March 8th 1872 The last day of my school this has seemed like a short term to me I am real sorry it is done I thought I would be so glad. It snowed some today still we did not give up the party. Did not have school all the afternoon I was busy after I came home. They began to arrive quite early and were all here but two or three. All seemed to enjoy themselves at all events they had a regular ripping charging time. Mr McSparen came with his children Gill Fletcher with their little folks. We invited Mrs & Mrs Thornbury and Lizzie Hess up us old folks devoted ourselves to card playing and waiting on and amusing the little folks Well Well it was some trouble to be sure but I am not sorry I did it. Had a note from Mr Clark he informed me that the school is taken Wrote an application for the Stevens school Saturday March 9th 1872 Home all day did a monstrous ironing Mother was gone to town most of the day and Hattie and I did the work A pretty cold day, real good sleighing dident do any thing in the evening but write a little and sat in the rocking chair and rested
