100th down town and mailed my letter Jen and I took the buggy and came home The Dr and Tom were out and spent the evening and went home in the rain. There was a fire in town tonight Stewarts store and a waggon shop were burned to the ground The men all went down from here We did not get to bed till one oclock. Sunday September 8th 1872 I did not go to church this morning I wrote to Bertie and wrote home After dinner Jim and Vene Ira and I went out riding I put my letters in the office We had only just got home till it began to rain No one went to church at night Ira and I took Aunt Polly home and my but it was dark when we came home. It stormed so that Tommy could not go home tonight. Wrote a note to Mr H_ Monday September 9th 1872 It was rainy and gloomy this morning so we did not wash I worked at my embroidery all the time I had and had a letter from Laura this morning. Tuesday September 10th 1872. A large washing was the order of the day Vene and Jennie were down town this afternoon
