159th Sunday March 30th 1873 It was an awful disagreeable day Not one of us girls ventured out but sat around the house all day, I read some and wrote to Mr Huebner. Mr Given was over a few moments in the afternoon. Monday March 31st 1873 I walked out to school this morning and stopped at Stevenes a few moments before school. At noon I went up to Barnes In the evening Father came after me in the little waggon. The folks at home did an awful washing today. Winnie went to town just before supper. I found an awful old pipe in the road this morning and I sent it to Mr Huebner for an april fool. We had the first rehearsal here tonight. Tuesday April 1st 1873 It just snowed and stormed awfully today I did not attempt to go to school. In the morning I helped iron and in the afternoon sewed for myself. I had a letter from Mr Huebner and wrote to him tonight I think this has been a little the roughest 1st of April I ever witnessed.
