193rd Friday August 22nd 1873 I ironed this forenoon and wrote a letter to Cousin Ira and sewed in the afternoon. Mother went to town. Saturday August 23rd 1873. Mother and I got the house all cleaned up and the baking done by noon. John Anderson was here for dinner today. I sewed all the afternoon. After supper I went over to town. Went in to look at Dr Vogt. I did a little shopping and did not come home till just dark. Weather very warm. Sunday August 24th 1873 It was very warm today. I wrote to Winnie and to Mr Huebner. Charlie and Mother went to Dr Vogts funeral. I was nearly sick today. Monday August 25th 1873 Mother was sewing today and I did the work, and all the spare time I had worked at the carpet rags. Tuesday August 26th 1873 I did most of the cooking and worked at the carpet rags. The weather not quite so warm. Had a letter from Mr Huebner. Wednesday August 28th [27th] 1873 I started very early and went to the valley to wash. Aunt Emma was at home
