219th Friday December 19th 1873 It took all the forenoon to get the house cleaned up and the dinner ready Aunty Mary Folsom and Mrs Fletcher were here today. Owen started for Delavan tonight on the evening train. Rob & Hatt and I attended society tonight the exercises were splendid. When we came home we found Marg, Josepine and Mollie Stevens here they stayed all night. When Charlie came home tonight he told us Grand-ma Lucas died very suddenly last night. Saturday December 20th 1873. Our company went home this morning as soon as they had eaten their breakfast. Mother went to town and was gone all day. Hatt and I did our enormous washing, and had supper ready when Mother came home. Mr Allen went home today. Sunday December 21st 1873. Hattie and I went over to Grand-ma Lucas'es home today. We took dinner at Mrs Clarks, As we came home stopped at Mygatts a few moments. In the evening I wrote to Cousin Ira. This has been a bitter cold day.
