236th Wednesday December 23rd 1874. To school again today. When I got home from school I had a letter from Mother, Charlie and Owen. I worked on my scarf in the evening and ironed a little, wrote a note to Owen. Thursday December 24th 1874. I walked to school this morning And Uncle came after me in the evening. I wrote to Mother and Charlie today. After supper We all went to the presbyterian church to a santa claus festival from there we went over to The City Hall to a dance We stayed there till about one oclock. I had a splendid time. It was a merry christmas eve for me. Friday December 25th 1874. All us young folks from home with Mr Moore from McLean Co and two young ladies from Normal went out to Mrs Beechers for dinner today. We had a very pleasant time and got home before night. In the evening Ira Laura and I went back down town to the Baptist Entertainment Which was very good. We got home about ten o'clock I was tired enough to go to bed. I had a letter from Mother this morning and in the evening a letter and paper from Charlie And The Reporter from Rob I have spent a pleasant christmas. The weather was very good for the time of year.
