237th Saturday December 26th 1874 Did not do much of anything this morning so soon as I had eaten my dinner I went down town was at Etts and Mrs Beechers a little while The young ladies came out here today I finished the scarf I was at work at today we talked all the evening. Sunday December 27th 1874 It stormed the whole day. No one went to church at all. I wrote to Charlie and to Mother. In the evening we young folks had a gay time with lunch. We ate the grapes Charlie sent me and found a lot of candy in the bottom of the box. Monday December 28th 1874 It was muddy and Ira took me to school and came after me. Did not do anything in the evening. The girls went down town today Tuesday December 29th 1874 The mud was froze up this morning so I walked to school. And back again in the evening I wrote some to Charlie I had four letters tonight. One from Hattie, Mother, Charlie, and Rob. Four years ago tonight we had a pleasant party at home and five years since I met a little friend at the spelling school. In the brick school house.
