4/26 - Q to Nfk - 18 planes
4/27 - Landed aboard - back to Q.
4/28 - Q to Nfk - 36 planes
4/29 - Landed aboard - back to Q.
5/2 - Q to Nfk - 36 planes - pilots walked aboard at Portsmouth.
5/3 - Ports. to H. Roads - tugs - harbor buoy - leaden sky - rain - wind.
5/4 - Am. demo. was founded & can only succeed on a thoroughly moral basis - common respect for innate dignity of man nec.  - a profound sense of justice for all - closely knit family life & sound, efficient local self-gov't required.
5/5 - Avoid the complex & fancy in thought, speech and action. Put your faith in simplicity & plain common sense. Our social & econ. prob. are fundamentally moral. Their ultimate solution depends on the home, school & church. However, we must eternally seek those laws & institutions which will most readily implement our ideals & reduce to a minimum the conditions tempting the frailties of human nature.
-Sunset in the harbor - a suffusion of gold & scarlet lingering over the bank of purple clouds in the west - freighters at anchor - blinking semaphore signals, silent but articulate - ferry boat - strange, clamoring cry (squeak) of the sea gulls - quiet, peaceful.
