Saving...
Both our Consti & our slogans have their worth and meaning, but we should not worship them superstitiously or permit them as moral argument for the suppression of the underprivileged. As the gov't continues to play an even greater part in our econ. & social life it is imperative that we develop a good, sound, honest, efficient system of administrators. The Consti. fathers were wise but also humble - I don't believe they thought they had formulated and infallible & unchanging law. It isn't a divine dispensation. A demo. gov't whose people will not permit it to arm & act against foreign & domestic enemy - both military & econ - is not fit to survive. Such institutions as the church & family cannot very well sanction the easy compromise of principle and ideals because the frailties of human nature would soon run rampant and obscure the beacon which has painted our progress. The reconciliation of practical needs and our aspiration must be made by the individual in good conscience and without fear. "ex cathedra" "sub rosa"
