Patronage & political technique of private org. vs gov't? Was the exploitation of labor by the big corp. & the robbery of stock & bondholders thru bankruptcy & reorganization proceedings the result of unscrupulous action by dishonest men, or of viewing these great org. as individuals competeing in a free mkt without public responsibility.
Relationship bet. succ. issues of corp. sec. & fiat money printed by gov't? Investors holding defaulted sec. have sacrificed their money to the material gain of the corp & public sanction is given to this. But what a howl greets the gov'ts effort to tax for a similar purpose.
What would be wrong with a gov't lottery? gov't controlled brothels? or any gov't controlled activity now permitted sub rosa?
State & fed. highways really am't to a gov't subsity for the auto industry
Selfish vested interests must clothe themselves with some respectable social myth, if they expect to form a powerful organization.
