Axis powers to join forces through India and that general area. The year 1942 will be critical - we must not falter or fail. How I would like to be in on the action by next fall! Friday - March 6 Tests today - in gunnery, and carburetor & ignition - didn't do too well. First pay check as an aviation cadet received this noon. Won't be much left by the time I have paid my mess account here & New Orleans. We K.C. boys have a lot of back pay coming one of these days. Sure would like to get my hands on some of it. No baseball for me this afternoon because of personnel inspection. Am anxious to get a chance to bat again - believe I have something figured out. How wonderful it would be if I could set down in a clear and interesting manner the funny things that happen and the rough humor of the conversation in the hallways and barracks. For example, the peripheral vision of some fellows during an exam & their comments afterwards is wonderfully funny. And the tale some of
