Saving...
England in the fall of 1940 so I believe Japan will fail to take Australia or India. And when she has been definitely halted - then will the tide turn, and the Allies will get under way. Tuesday - March 17 Another foggy, rainy day - we wear raincoats, or at least, carry them, half the time. No ball practice again today. Am finding blinker a bit difficult, also, ship & aircraft recognition. The latter is hard because I am starting from scratch. Have never paid much attention to the different types of ships & aircraft prior to coming to the Navy. In fact my ability to tell the different cars was limited to distinguishing between a Ford & a Chevrolet. Just about got a rib punched in at the supper table tonight. I ate beside a maniac. His elbows stuck out at right angles all the time he was in action - which was every minute. After awhile, with all the sarcasm I could command, I said, "pardon me, bud, but don't let me crowd you." He didn't even slow down or look. He ate as if it was the last meal
