chances to play in the near future. Once again in an effort to beat the weather they moved "Sunday" up a few days. Tonight and tomorrow were designated as liberty hours and Sunday is to be a regular working day. Bob, Ken, & I went into Morton's for steak and french fries, then on into Pensacola. Wandered around a little while and drove back to the base about 10:30. There is absolutely nothing to do around this town. I don't like the prospect for what future liberty is granted. Thursday - March 26 Rained all day - did nothing but play a little bridge, write a few letters, & read a couple of magazine articles. In Look magazine there was an interesting article on Stalin & Russia by Joseph Davies former U. S. Ambassador to the Soviet. I cannot help feeling that despite the ruthless domestic policy of the Russian gov't & its world revolutionary tendencies that something good may ultimately develop out of this great experiment. At least, in my mind, Russia is a better country in which to
