Saving...
Saturday - April 4 Three hours of solo this morning - most enjoyable and yet fatiguing, too, it is so necessary to be on the alert for other planes all the time. I was first man up on the 6:30 hop and winged my way northward for Kings field, up near the paper mill, arriving in time to shoot a few landings before it became too crowded. It was a wonderful morning, and I reveled in the joy of flying and in the wonderful view in all directions. Military flying has its unpleasant aspects, but flying just for pleasure would be hard to beat. Tomorrow being Easter we were granted weekend liberty for the first time in several weeks. A bunch of us went to town, stopping at Mortons on the way in for steak & french fries. Bob & I returned early, there being nothing to do as always. I'm getting pretty tired of having nothing of interest to do over liberty - perhaps its my own fault? Stayed up late last night &
