Sun - April 12. Received another hour and a half instruction today, followed by a solo period of equal length. My instructor seemed to think I was coming along pretty well, and in addition to wingovers, & slips to circles, he gave me some work on small field procedure. My solo period proved to be the most productive of any I have yet flown. Really seemed to be getting the word on wingovers & slips. Having finished most of my navigation I read for a couple of hours after supper. Am enjoying the "Last Puritan" a great deal. What a masterpiece of ability a good book represents! Mon - April 13 My three hours of solo today were more enjoyable - my wingovers were good & I successfully slipped to the circle time and again. Also did my first solo spin today, just to enhance my confidence. In fact I experimented in several ways today just for the fun & practice. Got a faint
