Saving...
Tuesday - April 21 Received my first instruction in acrobatics today. McCroskey showed me how to do a snap roll, a loop, an immelmann, split "s", a falling leaf. It was a lot of fun, but a very confusing experience until I began to get the word on what was happening and how it was being done. After spending about 45 min. on acrobatics he showed me how to do pylon 8s, and "s" turns to circles. By that time the hour was up and we landed. He then told me to go up for an hour and practise the stunts he had just showed me. This is a perfect example of how fast everything is being shoved at us down here. Inasmuch as I didn't know a snap from a cinammon roll before entering the navy it was hard for me to see myself trying to do acrobatic with only that much instruction. However, I plunged into them during my solo hop and managed to do everyone of them in a crude sort of way. Sure would like to ride Gus thru a few of them.
